Terms of Use

The service

Gabbai helps a synagogue gabbai keep fair queues for honors, plan reading days, remember yahrzeits and simchas, and — with Gabbai Pro — record pledges, keep finances and the Mi Sheberach list. It is provided by Mikhail David Plotnikov, Israel. Contact: dovidphone@gmail.com.

Free version and account

• The app is free for up to 25 people and works without an account.
• You may sign in with Apple or Google to sync your devices and use the web app. Keep your Apple or Google account secure — whoever can sign in to it can see your community.
• The first sign-in gives 60 days of Gabbai Pro free, once per person. No payment details are needed and nothing is charged automatically when the trial ends.

Gabbai Pro subscriptions

• Gabbai Pro is a monthly or yearly subscription bought in the iPhone app through Apple's App Store; prices are shown there, in your local currency.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID. The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel it in your Apple ID settings.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.
• Apple's standard licence agreement also applies to the iPhone app: www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/

Your content

The community data you enter belongs to you. You are responsible for it and for entering information about other people only as your community expects and the law allows. You give us only the permission needed to store, sync and show it back to you. Do not use Gabbai for anything unlawful or to harass anyone.

Availability and backups

We work to keep Gabbai reliable and keep daily server backups, but the service is provided “as is”, without guarantees that it will always be available or error-free. Keep your own backups: iCloud Drive backups and export are built into the app.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages, lost data or lost profits, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for Gabbai Pro in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights that consumer law gives you and that cannot be waived.

Ending

You can stop using Gabbai and delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend an account that abuses the service or these terms; if we do, we will tell you why when we can and let you export your data.

Changes and law

We may update these terms; the new version will be published here with its date. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence.
